Record of participation in the Municipal Sports Schools of Herencia.

The Municipal Sports Schools of Herencia have had a start to the 2023/2024 season filled with enthusiasm and participation. On October 2nd, the sports activities for adults were launched, joining those already started for children on September 11th.

The highlight of this season is the significant increase in registrations. While last year was already memorable, surpassing 800 registrations for the first time, this year the record has been surpassed by far, reaching more than 900 participants in the various scheduled activities today.

This increase is not a coincidence. It is largely due to the increase in disciplines and groups offered, in response to the growing demand in certain sports modalities. Activities such as Active Dance and Body Training Dance, for example, have seen exponential growth, almost doubling their number of registrations. Other disciplines such as Handball, Basketball, Futsal, Paddle Tennis, and Maintenance Gymnastics have also added new groups to meet the growing demand.

The interest in sports activities has not been limited to existing ones. One of the most notable novelties for this year has been the introduction of Hiking, which will start tomorrow and has already captured the attention and interest of the adult public in the town.

Recently, the mayor, Sergio García-Navas, along with Serafín Tajuelo, Sports councillor, had the opportunity to visit some of these activities. Their objective was to experience the start of the season and gather impressions from both athletes and instructors.

A session of the Local Council for Sports and Physical Activity in the town is planned to take place in the coming days. In this meeting, these data will be analyzed in detail and the start of the season for the sports clubs in Herencia will be discussed.
