The XXV Advent March fills Heritage with faith and youth.

Yesterday, November 30, Herencia became the epicenter of youth spirituality with the celebration of the XXV Advent March of the Diocese of Ciudad Real. Under the motto “At least, love me,” around 425 young people from all over the province participated in this day of reflection, faith, and fellowship, which also commemorated the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

A day full of significance

The march began in the natural setting of Copa del Agua, where the participants were warmly welcomed and offered an initial prayer. The young people then embarked on the journey to the town of Herencia, a route filled with symbolism and reflection.

At noon, a dialogue took place with Álvaro Quesada and Carla Restoy, who shared reflections on this year’s motto and the importance of love and hope in the current world. This space allowed attendees to connect with Christian values and strengthen their commitment to faith.

Workshops, vigil, and moments of community

The afternoon was marked by workshops organized in different parts of the town, promoting the integration of participants in the environment and creating spaces for learning and fellowship. As night fell, the young people gathered to enjoy a dinner offered by the Parish of Herencia, with the special collaboration of the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, which took care of its preparation.

The highlight of the day was the vigil, held in the Conventual Church of Our Lady of Mercy. This emotional moment of prayer and reflection was accompanied by the opportunity to participate in the sacrament of reconciliation, guided by priests of the diocese. At the end, hot chocolate was offered as a farewell, closing the day with a warm gesture of brotherhood.

A message of hope and commitment

The organization emphasized the importance of hosting events like this that strengthen community ties and promote essential values among youth. Additionally, the day was a reminder of the fundamental role of young people in building a more compassionate and just world.

The event not only marked a milestone as the 25th edition but also coincided with the jubilee of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, emphasizing the message of divine and human love, as reflected in Pope Francis’ recent encyclical, “Dilexit nos.”

Herencia, a meeting point for diocesan youth

The XXV Advent March not only strengthened the spirituality of the attendees but also turned Herencia into a meeting place for young people committed to faith and Christian values. With each edition, this initiative proves to be a cornerstone in the diocesan calendar, promoting unity and commitment in a season dedicated to preparation and hope.
