The prompt response of the emergency services prevented a major tragedy when a car caught fire on Huertos de Herencia street. Civil Protection, together with the Civil Guard and the Fire Department, intervened effectively to control and extinguish the fire.
The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. when a red Seat Ibiza suddenly began to burn. Eyewitnesses alerted the emergency services upon seeing how the flames quickly consumed the vehicle, creating a column of black smoke visible from various points in the town.
Within minutes, personnel from Civil Protection and the Civil Guard arrived at the scene to secure the area and prevent risks to passersby and residents. Subsequently, the firefighters arrived with a tanker truck, deployed their hoses, and began the extinguishing operations. Thanks to their timely intervention, the fire was contained before it could spread to nearby buildings or other vehicles parked on the street.
Officials from Civil Protection, present during the operation, highlighted the coordination among the different emergency services as key to the prompt resolution of the incident. “Collaboration and joint training enable situations like this to be effectively resolved, minimizing damages and ensuring the safety of citizens,” they stated.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the fire, although the vehicle was completely burnt. The causes of the incident are being investigated, although a mechanical failure is not ruled out as a possible origin of the fire.
