Last week, the Herencia Senior Center became a time machine thanks to the “Journey to the Past” initiative, organized in collaboration with the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Government and TeleVida. In this special Active Aging day, attendees were not just spectators, but also protagonists.
The event allowed participants to reminisce about the past through an emotional journey through old photographs, vintage toys, nostalgic songs, and, most importantly, their own memories and stories. This interaction created a warm and family-friendly atmosphere, where personal experiences served as a bridge between the different generations present.
The “Journey to the Past” day not only offered entertainment and a space for memory, but also focused on the importance of socialization and cultural exchange as pillars of active and healthy aging. By sharing their stories, the elderly relived significant moments of their lives, strengthening their sense of community and belonging.
